Who is Dr. Q?

Quozette Valera is a licensed physical therapist practicing in Los Angeles, California.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University then went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University. While pursuing her DPT, Dr. Q gained extensive experience in a variety of unique settings ranging from pediatrics treating patients as young as 18 months old in Northern California to a hospital trauma center in San Diego where she often worked with the homeless population.

The beginning of her career was spent at a four-month orthopedic internship at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi; working with active duty military, and continuing to hone her skills as a manual therapist. Dr. Q spent three years treating an extensive range of patients in outpatient orthopedics including infants with torticollis, high school athletes, and worker’s compensation injuries prior to specializing in Pelvic Health exclusively.

The complexities of pelvic health and pelvic floor dysfunction provide a unique challenge for healthcare providers to address the anatomical/structural, physical/tangible and emotional/ intuitive aspects of pathology. As a pelvic health physical therapist, Dr. Q’s priority is to equip patients with knowledge of their symptoms and understanding of their body through practices of mindfulness, intention, and patience. In a medical system where pelvic pain and dysfunction are often misunderstood or ignored, she aims to ensure that all patients feel heard.

Dr. Q is passionate about utilizing her clinical and interpersonal skills to spread awareness, provide quality of care, and advocate for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction. She feels privileged to help patients navigate their journey to optimal health and achieve their highest quality of life.
